Airsoft Jadgpanther Tank Destroyer

As the tide of war turned against Nazi Germany and an offensive war was being fought more and more there was a need for more tank destroyers. Why? Simply because the Americans and Russians had tends of thousands of T34s and M4 Shermans in Europe putting huge pressure on the small number of German tanks left fighting the war. Even the Tiger and standard Panther weren't available in enough numbers to make a difference. The Jadgpanther (Hunting Panther) was ordered in 1942 but didn't go into production until 1944 - well over 2 years later.

The Jadgpanther had one job - killing enemy tanks. It was a no-nonsense portable anti-tank gun wrapped up in 80mm - 100mm armor. There was no turret - the main gun was in a fixed forward position. The main gun made up for this - the Pak 43 gun was more than able to destroy any allied tank it faced.

Because it came into World War II late the Jadgpanther saw very limited action but was present in numbers on the Eastern front and during the Ardennes Offensive (Battle of the Bulge). Unfortunately only 392 Jadgpanthers were ever built - just not enough to turn the tide of the war.

World War II era German tanks are very popular as airsoft models and this is true of the Jadgpanther with this 1/16 scale model. The main gun can move up and down and it has realistic sounds (engine start up, machine gun and main gun) and it even produces realistic smoke!
