Radio Controlled Airsoft Sturmtiger

After the heavy urban fighting in Stalingrad the Germans realized that they needed a tank specifically designed for that type of combat. A heavy, heavily armed tank that could knock down entire buildings with one shot or blast apart concrete fortifications the same way. The decision was made to create an entirely new tank based on the Panzer VI base and put one huge gun on it. This is how the Sturmtiger heavy assault gun/tank was born in and around 1944.

The 210mm gun that was planned for the Sturmtiger wasn't available so the Germans swapped over to a 380mm Naval rocket launcher instead. Either way this think was going to pack a serious, serious punch and cause major damage to anything it fired at. Combined with this insanely large gun was incredibly think 150mm front sloped armor and 80mm side armor plates.

Even though plans for the Sturmtiger were drawn up in 1943 Hitler held up production of these gigantic tanks until late 1944. By this stage Nazi Germany was no longer fighting an offensive war (what the Sturmtiger was designed for) and was fighting on the offensive till the very end of World War II in Europe. This was fairly typical of a lot of German "superweapons" - they were superior to most the Allies had but they were made in such tiny numbers they couldn't change the course of the war. There were only 18 Sturmtigers built in total!

The 65 tonne Sturmtiger had a crew of 5 and was capable of powering along at up to 25mph with a total combat range of 120km. If this tank had been available for the Battle of Stalingrad the results might have been very, very different.
